AI twin for teachers and tutors: your lessons, available at any hour

Last updated

An AI twin for teachers and tutors is a version of you, built from your own lessons, notes and recordings, that students can ask questions at any hour by chat, voice or a live avatar. On AIMayDo (aimaydo.com) it's free to build. You set a price per minute above the €0.50 base, students pay only while they're talking to it, and you keep 80% of your markup.

What does an AI twin do for a teacher or tutor?

It explains things the way you do, when you're not there. Students get stuck the evening before a test, or want the same point explained a third time, or are too shy to ask in front of others. A twin answers from your own material, in your words and your voice, and it says so when a question goes beyond what you've taught.

For an independent tutor it's also a way to reach more students than your hours allow, and to let new ones try your teaching before they book a lesson.

What do you build it from?

Your own teaching: lesson notes and slides, worked examples, explanations you've written, recorded lessons and the answers you give most often. Recordings are transcribed, and documents work as they are. Add a face photo and a short voice clip for the talking avatar.

Then read the rules drawn from your material, approve the ones that are yours, and test it with questions you know the answers to. How to build an AI coach walks through each step, and it works the same way for teaching.

If you teach at a school or university, check your contract first. Material you made for an employer may belong to them, and your twin should only be built from material you own.

How do students pay?

Per minute, only while they're talking to it. You set the price at or above the platform base of €0.50 a minute and keep 80% of everything above the base. A typed question costs a quarter of a minute.

Whoever pays, a student or a parent, tops up credits by card on a Stripe checkout page. Credits don't expire, and nobody is signed up to a subscription.

A worked example, not a forecast: at €1.00 a minute you keep €0.40 of every paid minute, so 250 paid minutes in a month comes to €100. Payouts go out through Stripe once a month when your balance reaches €100. The calculator on how to monetize an AI avatar works it out for your own numbers.

You can give a free taster, 3 minutes by default, paid from your own credits at the base rate. When it runs out, the twin can show one link of yours, such as your booking page.

Will it do my students' homework?

It answers the way your material does. If your notes walk through a method step by step rather than hand over the final answer, your twin will too. You read the rules drawn from your material and approve only the ones that are yours. It's labelled as AI on every screen, and it gives information, not official grades or assessments.

Where do students find it?

On its own page on AIMayDo, in the experts directory if you want to be listed, and on your own website with one script tag or an iframe. Most tutors start with their own site and the students they already teach.

How do you start?

Create your twin for free, add the lessons students ask about most, and test it before you share it. There's no subscription. Your only cost is the free taster you choose to give.

Questions people ask

Can a teacher make an AI twin of themselves?
Yes, from material they own. Upload your lessons, notes and recordings with a face photo and a short voice clip, approve the rules drawn from them and test the answers. Students can then talk to it by chat, voice or a live avatar. If you teach for a school, check your contract first, because material you made for an employer may belong to them.
How much can a tutor earn from an AI twin?
It depends on your price and how many paid minutes students spend with it. You keep 80% of what you charge above the €0.50 base. At €1.00 a minute you keep €0.40, so 250 paid minutes in a month is €100. We don't publish an average, because we haven't got numbers that would make one true.
Does the AI twin just give students the answers?
It answers the way your own material does. If your notes explain methods step by step rather than give final answers, so will your twin, and you approve the rules drawn from them. It's labelled as AI and gives information, not grades.
How do students pay for it?
They top up credits through Stripe and pay per minute, only while they're talking to your twin. A typed question costs a quarter of a minute, credits don't expire, and there's no subscription.
Where are payouts available?
Payouts go through Stripe once a month when your balance reaches €100. They're available to experts in the EU, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

If you want to build one, it is free to start. If you would rather see a live one first, our co-founder Dr. Evangelos Katsioulis, a psychiatrist, has his own twin running.
