How do you monetize an AI avatar of yourself?

You charge people for the minutes they spend talking to it, the same way you'd charge for your own time. Your twin just happens to be awake at 3am, and it can hold a lot of conversations at once.

On AIMayDo the avatar is part of a twin. One build gives you text chat, your cloned voice and a live talking avatar, and all of them answer from your own material and the decision rules you approved. How does the money get from a visitor to you?

A visitor buys credits through Stripe and spends them at your price while talking to your twin, and your share builds up in your balance until the monthly payout. Step by step, it works like this.

1. A visitor finds your twin on its own page, in the experts directory or on your website.
2. They use the free taster you set, if you set one.
3. When it runs out, they top up credits through Stripe. One credit is one cent. Packs are €5, €10 or €15, and there are monthly plans at €15 and €30.
4. Their credits are spent at your price per minute while they talk to your twin.
5. Your share goes into your earnings balance as the visitor is billed.
6. Once a month your balance is paid out through Stripe, if it has reached €100.

Visitors don't subscribe to you. They keep credits in their own wallet, spend them at each expert's price, and the credits don't expire.

How much of your AI avatar income do you keep?

You keep 80% of whatever you charge above the platform base, which is €0.50 a minute right now, and we take the other 20%. Every twin sits on that base. You set your own price at or above it, and the part above the base is your markup.

The base pays for running the conversation, so none of it comes to you. New twins start at the base price, so you earn nothing until you raise it in your dashboard. You can't set a price below the base.

Your dashboard works it out both ways: type a price to see your payout per minute, or type the payout you want to see the price you need. You can change it whenever you like.

How much money can you make with an AI avatar?

It comes down to two numbers: your price per minute and the paid minutes visitors spend with your twin in a month. At €2.00 a minute and 300 paid minutes, for example, you keep €360. The three worked examples below all use the €0.50 base. They are sums from those two inputs, and none of them is a forecast.

Example 1: €1.00 a minute, 100 paid minutes a month

Your markup is €0.50. We take €0.10 of it, which leaves you €0.40 a minute. At 100 paid minutes, that's €40 for the month.

That's under the €100 payout line, so it carries over. At the same pace your balance is €120 after month 3, and that whole amount goes out in the next monthly payout.

Example 2: €2.00 a minute, 300 paid minutes a month

Here the markup is €1.50 and our 20% comes to €0.30, so €1.20 of every paid minute is yours. Across all your visitors, 300 paid minutes is about 5 hours of conversation, and it pays you €360 for the month. That clears the €100 payout line, so it goes out in the monthly payout. At this price it takes 84 paid minutes to reach €100.

If a visitor types instead of talking to the avatar, each question costs a quarter of a minute. At €2.00 a minute that's €0.50 a question, and €0.30 of it is yours.

Example 3: €3.00 a minute, 600 paid minutes a month

With €2.50 of markup and €0.50 to us, you keep €2.00 a minute. Say visitors spend 10 hours with your twin in a month. That's 600 paid minutes, and it comes to €1,200.

How do visitors pay when you sell access to your AI twin?

Visitors buy credits on a checkout page hosted by Stripe before they use any paid time, and every top-up gets a Stripe invoice. A visitor can pay as a guest, and their account is set up from the email they give at checkout.

Visitors are billed only while talking. A typed question is billed as a quarter of a minute, and a question that gets no answer isn't billed. A live avatar session is billed per started minute, with a one-minute minimum per session. If the visitor goes quiet, the avatar goes to sleep within about a minute.

When a visitor has used up the free part and has no credits left, they see the top-up options. There you can also show one link to a page of yours, such as a course you sell or your booking page. The button label is the same for every twin. For visitors who see the page in English, a short line of your own text sits above it, so you can say where the link goes.

Do you pay for the free minutes visitors get?

Yes. Free time comes out of your own credits at the base rate, and you decide how much of it to give.

Each twin has a free taster with two caps: free minutes and free questions. The defaults are 3 minutes and 12 questions, and you can change both in your dashboard. As soon as a visitor uses up either one, the free part is over. Set either to zero and there's no free tier at all.

The visitor doesn't pay for the taster. You pay €0.50 for each free minute, and €0.13 for each free typed question, which is a quarter of a minute at the base, rounded up to the cent. So the default 3 free minutes come to €1.50, and the default 12 free questions come to €1.56.

That's a real trade: a generous taster lets people hear your twin before they pay, and a tight one keeps your costs down. The expert plans on the pricing page come with credits to cover free minutes, but you don't need one to go live or to charge.

Can you put your AI avatar on your own website?

Yes. You can put it on your website with one script tag or an iframe, and list the domains that are allowed to show it. It also has its own page on AIMayDo, and it uses the same price and the same free taster wherever it appears.

Your own site is often the better place to start. The people there already know your work. If you'd rather not appear in the public directory, you can switch that off and send people to the twin on your own site. It keeps its own page for anyone with the link.

How do you get paid?

Through Stripe, straight to your bank, once a month whenever your balance has reached €100.

You connect payouts with Stripe from your dashboard. It takes a few minutes, and it's also the identity check: Stripe checks who you are before your twin goes live. Payouts are currently available to experts in the EU, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

Your earnings build up as visitors are billed. Once a month, a balance of €100 or more goes to your bank in full, and anything less carries over to the next month. We cover the Stripe payout fees. If your bank account isn't in euros, currency conversion may apply.

Is an AI avatar passive income?

Partly. Your twin does the talking without you, but it can't bring people to itself. It works while you sleep, it handles hundreds of conversations at once, and it replies in each visitor's language.

The income depends on people talking to your twin, and that mostly comes down to your own audience: your website and the people who already follow your work. A twin nobody visits earns nothing. It costs you nothing either, because building one is free and there's no subscription.
