The term "AI avatar" also covers tools that turn a script into a recorded video clip. This page is about something else: a live, two-way twin that answers your visitors from your own material. Video tools come up only for comparison.

How is an interactive AI avatar different from a video avatar?

A video avatar reads a script you wrote and plays the same clip to everyone, while an interactive AI avatar answers each visitor's own question live, follow-ups included.

With a video tool you write a script, pick a face, and the software renders a clip of that face reading your words. That's handy for marketing, though the clip can't take a follow-up question. An interactive AI avatar starts from the other end. There's no script. A visitor asks something, the twin works out an answer from your material, and the face says it in your voice. The next question gets its own answer. If the visitor disagrees, the twin responds to that as well.

What does a visitor see when they talk to a live AI avatar?

They see a twin clearly labelled as AI, choose between the talking avatar and text chat, and ask by typing or speaking. Here's the visit step by step.

1. Every twin page carries an AI banner that can't be closed. It tells the visitor they're talking to an AI twin of you, built from your own material, that it can make mistakes, and that it gives general information, not professional advice. The widget on your own site carries a shorter version of the same label.
2. The visitor picks a tab, Avatar + voice or Chat.
3. They can type, or tap the microphone and speak. There's a hands-free conversation mode too. The microphone stays open, and a short pause sends what they said.
4. On the avatar tab, the face speaks the reply in your voice. In chat, the reply appears as text while it's being written. The reply comes back in the visitor's language. The avatar's voice supports 14 languages, including English, Greek, Spanish, French, German and Arabic.
5. If you've set a free taster, the visitor sees a small counter with the free questions or minutes they have left.
6. When the taster runs out, the visitor can top up from €5 through Stripe. Someone who hasn't signed up yet can create a free account and get a one-time welcome credit of €1.00, which is 2 minutes at the base rate.
7. Once a visitor has used up their free time and credits, you can show them one link to a page of yours, such as a course you sell or your booking page. The link's label is fixed ("Open the course", in Greek for Greek visitors), and you can add a short line of your own text that English-language visitors see above it.

If nobody says anything for a minute, the avatar dozes off. The next question wakes it. Every twin page also has a notice with local crisis helplines, and if a visitor asks whether they're talking to a person, the twin says plainly that it's an AI.

How does the avatar decide what to say?

The avatar answers from the material you uploaded and the decision rules you approved. When a question falls outside your topics, it says so instead of making something up.

The rules come from a pass over everything you've uploaded. We draft them and you read them. Only the ones you approve shape the live twin. That review is where you catch a view you've since moved on from, or a line that's technically right and sounds nothing like you. Grounded AI personas goes into how that works.

The twin gives information, not regulated advice. Medical, legal and financial questions about someone's own situation go back to you or another qualified professional. If a visitor seems to be in crisis, the twin drops the persona and points them to emergency services and helplines.

A real-time talking AI avatar still needs a moment. Each answer is generated when the visitor asks, so expect a short pause before the face starts to speak.

You can check how close the answers come to your own. Write a few test questions, answer them yourself, then run Measure fidelity from your dashboard. The twin answers without seeing your answers, and a separate AI judge scores how closely it matches, out of 100. Once you've measured, the score shows on your twin's page. Where does a two-way AI avatar for your website help?

It helps most where people keep asking you the same things: your audience's everyday questions, new students finding their way around a course, and people deciding whether to hire you.

Your twin gets its own page on aimaydo.com. You can also put it on your own website with one script tag or an iframe, and list the domains allowed to show it. It can sit in the page or open from a floating bubble in the corner. You don't paste any password or secret key into your site.

Answering your audience's questions

Anyone with an audience gets the same questions over and over. The twin takes them at two in the morning, in the visitor's language, and answers the way you've answered before, from your articles and recordings. In text it can handle hundreds of these conversations at the same time.

Onboarding people into your course or programme

New students ask the same setup questions in their first week. Put the twin on your welcome page and it can walk people through how the programme runs, using your own course material. How much do visitors pay, and what do I keep?

Visitors pay the per-minute price you set, above a platform base of €0.50 a minute, and you keep 80% of the markup, meaning the amount above the base. Building your twin is free and no subscription is required. Without a paid seat, a quiet month costs you nothing. Money moves when visitors talk to it.

• Visitors are billed only while talking.
• A text question costs a quarter of a minute.
• A live avatar session is billed per started minute, with a one-minute minimum.
• Our 20% commission applies to the markup only, never to the base.
• You set the free taster yourself: free minutes and free questions, per twin. When either runs out, the free part ends. Sponsored free minutes come out of your own credits at the base rate.

A worked example

Say you charge €2.00 a minute. The base is €0.50, so your markup is €1.50 and you keep €1.20 a minute. Once a visitor's free taster is used up:

• They ask one text question. It costs them €0.50, and you keep €0.30.
• They talk to the avatar for 2 minutes 20 seconds. That's 3 started minutes, so it costs them about €6.00, and you keep about €3.60.
• At that price, 84 paid minutes reach the €100 payout threshold.

That's plain arithmetic. What you earn depends on how many people talk to your twin, and for how long.

What do I need to create an interactive AI avatar?

You need one face photo, a voice clip of one to five minutes, and your own material.

• One face photo. Square, at least 768 by 768 pixels, head and shoulders, one person, plain background.
• A voice clip of one to five minutes.
• Your material. Text documents (.docx and .txt), spreadsheet exports (.csv), audio and video files, pasted text, or a link to a video. Audio and video are transcribed for you. Have your material as a PDF? Paste the text in.

You tick a consent box when you upload the photo and voice clip, and later grant consent for your likeness, voice and name. That consent is recorded and stored. Stripe checks your identity when you connect payouts, before your twin goes live. The voice is ready straight away. The face can take hours to generate.

What are the limits of an interactive AI avatar?

It works only from what you gave it, so it can be wrong at the edges of your material, and it knows nothing you haven't written or said. It doesn't know anyone's history with you, and it carries no duty of care.

Live avatar sessions have a ceiling on how many can run at the same moment, and each connection has a length cap. A long conversation reconnects and carries on.
